The fourth of July has come and we were treated to a wonderful display of fireworks both within Dollport and without. Master Dansmen created another fine firework simulation on the computer as well as some interesting doll fireworks. Unfortunately these doll fireworks were not ready until a day or to after the fourth, but no one in Dollport will complain about some delayed celebration.

The doll election now has a date. The date is this Sunday. Campaigns are expected to pick up shortly and we at The Dollport Times intend to give you a edition with nothing but information on who's running and what they are doing. The most heavily campaigned race this year has the one for president. The race has been between Toby (Timsmen), Daniel Leaf (Dansmen), and Quincy (The Laursmen Queen). Toby and Daniel seem to be more popular than Quincy, but ironically The same three candidates ran last rear and Toby won by a slim margin last year over not Daniel but Quincy.

You've got to vote for someone for mayor... So vote for somebody for mayor. Ann Sombody for mayor Timsmen for Ann Somboby |
This does compute

Afterward the debate (See above article.) Toby called a doll council meeting. Daniel Leaf proposed to make the doll council use an electoral college to eliminate disputes. This was unanimously approved. (It was one thing that was agreed on during the debate) Toby called on the doll council to decide once and for all how the doll government actually worked and set up a book of law. This was also unanimously approved of.

The new house has seen a lot of progress since our last edition. The footings are down and the ICF walls to the basement have been started. The cement for the first story should be poured tomorrow. Master Timsmen took a few soldiers out there in the winter to hold down the fort and is now building a mud town on a peak of the enormous dirt pile created by digging the foundation. Master Timsmen would like to take more soldiers out there and place a plain on his airstrip to guard the aria. In summary all goes well.

The first event chronologically was the debate. It was a presidential debate between Toby and Daniel Leaf. Toby and Daniel discussed, among other things, whether a matchbox could become president, whether the education of rabbits is a national priority, and whether to have term limits. Toby went down in the polls afterwards because he confessed that the government didn't do anything and nobody knew how it worked.
