The Osborne 1 was released in 1981 as the first popular luggable computer. It has a handle and can be carried like a briefcase with its keyboard latched across the screen, and in this way it is an ancestor of all our modern laptops. My particular machine is from slightly later after Osborne redesigned the front bezel about a year or so into production.
